How do I register as a Listener?
(1) Click on "Listener Registration" on top right corner of the screen.
(2) Read the Agreement, and click on "AGREE" on the bottom of the screen.
(3) Fill out Listener Registration Form, and Click on "Next to Input Information Confirmation Screen" on the bottom of the screen.
(4) Confirm the input information. To modify, click on "Modify" button. If you are done, click on "Register with these contents."
This is the completion of the Listener Registration.
How do I register as an Artist?
(1) Click on" Artist Registration" on top right corner of the screen.
(2) Read the agreement, and click on "AGREE" on the bottom of the screen.
(3) Fill out Artist Registration Form. * For "Artist Face Photograph," you can save the artist real picture or fictitious image. After you saved the picture, click on "Next to Input Information Confirmation Screen."
(4) Confirm the input information. To modify, click on "Modify" button. If you are done, click on "Register with these contents."
(5) Attach separate legal papers (agreement, etc).
(6) Pay the artist registration fee.
This is the completion of the Artist Registration.
> Is it necessary for a custodian to agree when a person under 20 year-old wants to register as an Artist?
- Yes, it is necessary. According to the civil code, a legal conduct (to register as Listener and Artist) of a person under 20 year-old requires your custodian consent. When you register as an Artist on muplaza, you need to fill out the agreement papers accompanied by your custodian (you can download the form through the artist registration screen. For the listener registration, you need to register as a Listener after you had consent from your custodian.
How do I register Original Music?
(1) Log on as Artist, and click on "Artist Information" on the top of the screen.
(2) Click on "Upload Original Music" on top right corner of the screen.
(3) Now you are on the screen of "Original Music Registration Form." After you enter Original Music information, click on "Next to Input Information Confirmation Screen" on bottom of the screen.
* Please save music data in MP3 format (both Test-Listening about 30 seconds and full-size). About Jacket Image (GIF, JPG, PNG format), you will register artist real photograph or fictitious image. The first page is seen when Original Music was selected on the search. The 2nd to 5th pages are seen every fee seconds when Listener downloads and listen to the music. (It will be a good idea to register an image of playing the music with an instrument!)
This is the completion of pre-registration of Original Music. When the Original Music is checked and approved, this is the completion of the whole registration. The Original Music is now uploaded to muplaza.
Do I register a song?
When you register Original Music with a song, please register the song. Please enter the song directly on "Song" on the Original Music Registration Form. You can also use an image of the hand-written song taken by a scanner, high-quality digital camera, or cell phone camera (GIF, JPEG, PNG format) as long as it is human-readable. Please input the image on "Song Image" on the Original Music Registration Form.
Is it necessary to register a music notation?
The music notations are a proof of Original Music. This is optional. If you want to register a music notation, you can register it (image, PDF, etc) through "Music Notation Data" on the "Original Music Registration Screen" or mail the paper format.
What kind of music am I able to register on muplaza?
The music needs not be copyrighted at the Copyright Office. You can only register the music, which must belong to the artists themselves.
Am I able to register music created by an other artist?
You are able to register music created by an other artist if the other artist agreed to it and if the music is not copyrighted at the Copyright Office.
What happens to a copyright after Original Music is registered?
The copyright of music you created belongs to you (Artist). Once you registered the music on muplaza, the right to transfer the music on the web belongs to muplaza. However, the copyright of the Original Music belongs to you, even though you gave the right to transfer your Original Music on the web to muplaza. You can make a CD that recorded the registered Original Music by yourself.
Do you administer a copyright for us?
We don't manage a copyright for you. However, as per your request, we will share the information, such as Original Music data registered by Artist and its registered date and time. In case a dispute of copyright about the registered Original Music on muplaza occurs; for example, somebody sued you for your stealing her/his music melody, we can prove which person created the music first by showing the Original Music data and the registered date and time stored on muplaza. We do not provide additional administrative services, such as collecting the usage fee for copyright.
How long does it take to download music?
The time needed to download depends on the speed of the Internet connection. Also, it depends on the time of the Internet usage, even though you use the same Internet connection.

The approximate time to download a full file of a 5 minute music performance will be:
- few seconds by light fiber
- several seconds by ADSL
- 5 minutes by ISDN (64Kbps)
- 20 minutes by analogue telephone line (33.6 Kbps)
What is "test-listening"?
There are two methods to listen to the Original Music registered at muplaza. One is the "test-listening," which allows you to listen to the Original Music for the length of 30 seconds. The other one is "download," which allows you to listen to the Original Music for the full length. You can use the "test-listening" without the listener's points. You can use the "test-listening" method as much as you want, then you can download your favorite music for a full-length. Please acknowledge that some artists do not give the "test-listening" option.
What is "listen music" when download?
This is a function for you to play the Original Music and watch repeated image screens (1 to 5 pages). You can enjoy your favorite Original Music by eyes and ears thoroughly.

How to use "listen music" option:
(1) When you select a favorite music on muplaza, the information about Original Music will appear. The information includes the "test-listening" and "download."
(2) When you select the "download" option, you can choose from "Listen music," "Download," and "Cancel" under the "listener points" information. You can click on "Listen music."
(3) You can enjoy watching the repeated pictures (1 to 5 pages) and listen to the music.

How do I store an image/picture?
Please store a picture by one of three types: JPEG, GIF or PNG. The rough size for the picture is QVGA (width 320, height 240 piksel).
What is MP3?
This is one of the sound compressed technology regulated by animation standard MPEG. When we treat sound on a computer, WAVE file is usually used.
What do we use/need to listen to a MP3?
To listen to a MP3 requires a personal computer (soundboard) and player software. A personal computer usually equips player software (windows media player in Windows), so what you have to do is to set up your computer to be able to listen to MP3. There are various MP3 replay software programs, which are free or on retail. You can select the one that is suitable for you. Examples of free software
Windows Users:
Windows Media Player, Real Player, iTunes, Winamp, etc.
Mac Users:
iTunes, Real Player, SoundApp, etc.
How do we convert to MP3 from CD?
1. What we need:
Please have the following things below.
(1) A personal computer that has a CD-ROM drive.
CD-R drive is necessary because sound data is recorded from CD. You can also use CD-RW and DVD-ROM.
(2) A music CD.
You need to prepare the music CD you created.
(3) Convert software.
A special software is necessary to create MP3 data from CD. There are many software on retail as well as free software opened on the Internet.
When you need to record analogue data, please use frequency-editing software.
Examples of free frequency editing software:
Windows Users: soundengine, Audacity, etc.
Mac Users: Audacity, etc.


2. To Convert to MP3 data from Music CD
There are two methods to create MP3 data from CD.

(1) Method to convert MP3 file directly from music CD data:
This is a method to convert to MP3 file directly from music CD data. The time to convert to MP3 depends on the quality of CD_ROM drive, CPU, and encoder.
Examples of free software to convert to MP3 from CD:
Windows: CDex, iTunes, etc.
Mac: iTunes, etc.

(2) Method to convert to WAVE file from CD, then to convert to MP3 file:
This is a method to convert to WAVE file from music CD first, then to convert to MP3 from WAVE file. This method is used when it is not possible to convert to MP3 directly from CD, wanting to edit sound data in WAVE file format.

*What is WAVE file?
This is a Windows sound file format to record sound signal that is transformed to digital data.
Examples of software to convert to WAVE file from CD
Windows: CD2WAVE32, CDex, etc.
Examples of software to convert to MP3 file from WAVE file
Windows: "Gogo no Ko-da," CDex, etc.

Sound Quality of MP3

MP3 enable to compressed sound in various conditions. The quality of sound depends on the following standards.

  • Bit Rate : Kbps (information amount to reserve 1 second

  • sampling frequency : KHz (record sample number for 1 second)


  • It is possible to replay sound very close to the original when kbps and kHz are increased, which enable them to keep more information. The general setting for MP3 is 128kbps/44.1kHz. This level will make it possible to reply any sound in close to CD.
